Dr. Nguyen is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer, Associate Chief of Patient Experience, the Center Medical Director (CMD) at Main and Director of SBRT at ACB. She has led and published multiple manuscripts on toxicity and clinical outcomes for patients with localized as well as metastatic disease treated with SBRT and proton therapy. In addition, her expertise in proton therapy including Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT) for Thoracic and Genitourinary malignancies, has resulted in numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Nguyen is currently leading multiple prospective randomized trials for Thoracic Malignancies, which include: collaborative studies involving Radiotherapy combined with Immunotherapy and Targeted therapy for Small Cell Lung Cancer with biomarkers, SBRT for pulmonary metastases, as well as Effectiveness of Palliative Care. Her research goals are to continue her clinical research in advance technology and complete multiple prospective randomized trials to improve patients’ clinical outcomes and valued based standard of care guidelines.
