Evan Thomas, MD, PhD, DABR is a board-certified radiation oncologist and the founder and Chief Medical Officer of the Renaissance Institute of Precision Oncology & Radiosurgery (RIPOR) in Winter Park, Florida. His clinical and academic work is centered on functional radiosurgery, with particular focus on frameless LINAC-based stereotactic radiosurgical thalamotomy for non-oncologic indications, such as movement disorders, psychiatric disorders, and epilepsy.
He recently completed development of the first US functional radiosurgery course, the inaugural session of which will be held this year. He maintains adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the University of Miami.
